I’m going to be traveling around Europe for a month and need durable luggage that’s easy to carry. Any tips? I would also appreciate any general travel tips. Thanks so much.

If you’re going to be on & off trains, you’ll be happiest with a medium sized duffel or suitcase with wheels. Pack what you think you’ll need, then take half of it out. Use a laundromat once a week-10 days.
Many people bring backpacks, but I’m a big fan of the wheels.
A guide: Fot all of this, pick brown or black as your base color, then add other neutrals in cream, navy, red or blue, that all coordinate. Bring 2-3 shirts, 1 sweater, maybe a blazer, 1 pair nice pants (or skirt if you’re a girl), 7 pair underpants and socks, in a material that dries fast and wash in the sink. If it’s summer bring 2 pr shorts (or skirts) and one pr jeans, otherwise, 1-2 pr of jeans. For shoes, bring low heeled black or brown shoes (whichever color scheme you decide to go with) and/or sandals that you can walk in all the time and look ok with most of your clothes. Spare no expense on your shoes! and a maybe pair of sneakers. Wear one of the two on the plane. Bring a black rain jacket with a hood. Bring small shampoos/soaps, and buy replacements at local stores.
Have a great time! That’s the most important thing!
look at rick steve’s web site, he is really very good at picking packs
get a backpack…and i don’t mean a school backpack
Oh my brother is going to Europe next year too for a band trip. Maybe something with wheels or so, for easy maneuvar.
I travelled around Europe for a month with 2 bags. One huge duffle from a company called Rome. It had wheels and you could also put it on your back. Then I had a smaller bookbag sort of thing. It also had wheels, but it was the kind of book bag with wheels for little kids. It was small, but it was great to take with you during the day out when you wouldn’t go back to the hotel. I took this on the plane with an overnight change of clothes. My luggage got lost in Rome, so I was lucky. I also had a fanny pack. It might be ugly, but it’s practical. I had a money wallet too, that I hung around my neck and kept under my shirt. It was a good thing too, ’cause some places are filled with pickpockets and gypsies (sp?).
Get a backpack.
Make sure that it is comfortable to carry fully laden.
Restrict what you take to what you can comfortably carry.
I traveled around Europe for 3 months. You are better off with carry on type but bigger. Something slim especially if you are going to be taking the train around.
