No single designer brand is imitated more than Louis Vuitton. Since the fashion house was launched in the mid-1880s, thousands of companies have attempted to replicate the brand’s high-fashion designs, seen by some as the ultimate form of flattery. Want to add a Louis Vuitton handbag to your repertoire, but reluctant to fork over hundreds or even thousands of dollars for the genuine article?

Luggage Boy Prada Handbags
December 9th, 2009
Luggage Boy Yes, we know the Devil wears Prada and you’ll be damned if you’re going to go around with anything less than a genuine Prad Handbag yourself. The question is of course how do you know that the super expensive Prada Handbags (because after-all, you can’t have just one) you just shelled out the big bucks for is the genuine article and not a bunch of cheap made in China fakes? Well, there are several ways you can tell.
Let’s assume you bought your bag from a reputable dealer and one where you think you got a genuine article; but you’re still not sure. After all, the majority of the Prada Handbags out there are fakes and you want the comfort of knowing you were not ripped off. When it comes to an authentic Prada handbag, the first thing to check for is the stitching. It should be firm and straight. The fakes will be done in a hurry to maximize profits and the occasional bag with poor stitching work from the genuine factory would never ever leave the factory floor lest they destroy the Prada name.
The smell of the leather should also be nice. Basically, if it smells cheap or skanky, it probably is. Believe it or not, there are different types of leather available. Some smell really nice while others are a little on the skanky side. Needless to say, Prada didn’t build their reputation by selling skanky Prada handbags.
Another way to tell is by touch. There are all kinds of leather materials out there. The cheapest kind is the one you see with stitching all over it; this is made from leather scraps. Basically, when they cut a piece of leather, it is a natural product made from the skin of a cow and they do not come in even shapes. So they cut out the piece that they need and leave the rest over. The scraps are then gathered up and sewn together to make new pieces of leather material.
These are the cheapest kind of leather and if you got yourself a Prada handbag made looking like that, then you’ve got yourself one the very many fake Prada Handbags available on the market today.
Another way to tell if the Prada Handbags you are being shown are fake or real is to check the label and the logo on the bags. The logo on the real deal should look like the Prada logo, with the triangle and correct spelling. Remember the episode of Everybody Hates Chris when he buys Pure Voodoo but it should have been spelled Peur Voodoo? It really is that common for the fakes to have stupid mistakes like that.
Prada Handbag

Luggage Boy Yes, we know the Devil wears Prada and you’ll be damned if you’re going to go around with anything less than a genuine Prada Handbag yourself. The question is of course how do you know that the super expensive purse you just shelled out the big bucks for is the genuine article and not a cheap made in China fake? Well, there are several ways you can tell.
The most important question to ask of course is where you bought your bag. Did you really think that the guy selling “two Prada handbags for twenty dollar” in Midtown Manhattan was selling you the real deal? Even though he thrust it into your face and showed you the Prada logo, and said, “look, look, it real, you see, real, genuine Prada. I get you good deal.” Okay, let’s assume you’re not quite that naive. If you are, you can stop reading now. I have nothing to offer you.
But let’s say you bought on the Internet. Ahh, now we know you got the real thing, right? After-all people on the Internet don’t lie. Just ask the babe with the swimmers build and a body that won’t quit who has time to sit in front of her computer for 24 hours a day talking to lonely men. But there are places on the ‘net you could buy a genuine bag. Look for a place that has a reputation.
And I do not mean eBay or even Amazon.com. Both of these companies contract out to thousands of independent sellers for their work and it is estimated that fully 85% of all designer products sold on eBay are fake.
Even with Amazon.com, they are not really capable of policing who sells on their site effectively. They rely on you, the consumer to tell them that the Prada Handbag you bought was a big fat fake and how would you know anyway?
Well, first off, you’d know because you took the time to pay a visit to the Prada web site and find out who is actually authorized to be selling their products. If you bought it from anyone else, odds are it’s a fake. Is it possible that Ms ‘I’m so wealthy and I don’t know what to do with my money’ decided to buy one and then sell it off cheap on eBay or Amazon? Sure it is. You can totally believe her. Oh by the way, can I interest you in a bridge? It’s got a lovely view of Brooklyn and I can let you have it for real cheap.
Basically, if you simply must have a genuine Prada handbag, know where you’re doing your purchasing. It makes a big difference and know that you will get only what you pay for.
