I am going to Ireland in a week for 17 days, and unlike the rest of the students going, my parents didn’t pay for the trip…. I did! So I am short on cash! I was wondering if taking canned goods and maybe a box of mac and cheese and a pack of raman noodles (just a few not huge amounts of anything) and putting it in my checked luggage was ok? I really don’t want to spend a lot of money on food over there, so are those things ok to bring?

November 24th, 2009 Luggage Boy I’m from the United States and I think I want to take a semester off from school to backpack through Ireland. Where are the cheapest places I can stay? How large of a pack should I bring? How should I carry my money? I also read that I can stay for three months with just a passport, if I wanted to stay longer and possibly work there a little do I have to get a Visa, and if so how can I get one? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
